The Scandinavian House in cooperation with Klub cestovatelů, travel agency CK Periscope and outdoor store Fjällräven invites you to Travel Evening, which will take place on the 21st January 2017 in Klub cestovatelů.
Do you miss the Nordic nature?
For those who love islands and vast plains of Scandinavia, architecture enthusiasts, lovers of cycling as well as those who just like to listen to adventurous and inspiring stories while sipping hot tea, the Scandinavian House has arranged an evening with two interesting lectures.
The first part of the evening will focus on islands of Southern Sweden and its monuments. Architect Jan Pešta will lead you trough the medieval city of Visby on Gotland, which is on the list of UNESCO and one of the most beautiful historical cities of Northern Europe. You will also see the megalitic monuments of Öland and bizarre cliffs of Fårö.
The second part of the Travel Evening is intended for those who prefer extraordinary sport achievements and adventure in the Icelandic wasteland. Traveler Jakub Vlček will talk about his journey to the land of volcanoes, lava fields and waterfalls. He travelled by bike along with Martin Čunát from the south to the north and back, through the inland over a glacier.
Both lectures will be accompanied by wonderful photos.
Programme of the evening:
17:30–18:30 Jan Pešta: Attractions and landmarks of Swedish islands
19:00–20:00 Jakub Vlček: Bike volcano ride
Admission: 60 CZK / 50 CZK for members of the Scandinavian House
Due to limited capacity, we recommend a ticket reservation via e-mail filip@klubcestovatelu.cz by Saturday 21/1/2017 9 am. Reservation is forfeited 15 minutes before the first lecture.
