Both funny and touching documentary movie about an extraordinary volleyball team
There is no shortage of enthusiasm and humour in the volleyball team of retired women. Optimistene, a volleyball team for grandmothers, consists of 66 to 98 -year-old-women and exists already from the 1970’s. The women, used to playing amongst themselves, face a great surprise when they get an opportunity to play against a team of Swedish senior men. The documentary trails the women’s preparations for the challenge, portraying the pensioners’ everyday, merrily in step with a mariachi orchestra.
The Scandinavian House in cooperation with Evald Cinema presents THE OPTIMISTS, a Norwegian documentary film.
The screening will be introduced by a short lecture about the Norwegian documentary films.
