The Nordic Shorts

The Scandinavian House in cooperation with the Evald cinema cordially invites you to the second year of the short film festival The Nordic Shorts.

During this festival you will have the opportunity to see up to forty contemporary short films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The programme is divided into five parts according to the country of origin and includes live-action films as well as animated cartoons. Sullen Denmark represents rather serious reality and brings forward the topic of the relationship between parents and children and generational conflicts. Crude Finland reflects the society, mind of an individual and the human attitude towards nature. The society and interpersonal relationships are also examined by Ironic Norway, but besides deep thought, it offers you its specific humour. Bittersweet Sweden will be characterized by melancholy, loneliness, unfulfilled love and nostalgic memories. (Extra)ordinary Iceland will show the everyday life of the island’s inhabitants, in which a lot of the unusual happens.
