The Scandinavian House in cooperation with the Evald cinema cordially invites you to the third year of the short film festival The Nordic Shorts.
During this festival you will have the opportunity to see about thirty contemporary short films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The programme is divided into five parts according to the country of origin and includes live-action films as well as animated cartoons.
“Crazy Finland” will primarily display the dangers of nowadays society and consumer era, but also the distinctive nature and the power of true friendship. “Restless Iceland” will focus on the emotional life of teenagers and the elderly and Icelanders’ belief in the supernatural. “Peculiar Sweden” will bring the “other side” of the society: pensioners talking about sex, frustrated people and stories one would expect to hear in some old fables. “Intriguing Norway” will deal with the idea of soulmates, being spooky and funny at the same time. Finally, “Denmark (un)chained” will show the nooks of human mind and relationships between friends, lovers and family members alike.
