An introduction to new translations from Finnish published by Host publishing house in the year 2024: fantastical novel with a touch of strangeness Fishing for the Little Pike (Juhani Karila), poetic autofiction about childhood in Helsinki in the 50s Lowest Common Denominator (Pirkko Saisio) and the monumental historical novel Passion (Pirkko Saisio). The books will be introduced by translators Jitka Hanušová and Michal Švec and the head of the translation department of Host publishing house, Nikola Kochová.
