In January 2026 we will once again begin the Nordic literary salon series with a special. This time we have invited the president and the vice president of the Czech Translators of the North Association, translator from Norwegian, Kateřina Krištůfková, and translator from Swedish, Martin Severýn. Together we will evaluate Czech translations from Nordic languages that came out in the year 2025 and we’ll reveal which Nordic books you can be excited for in the new year. We’ll also discuss the current situation of literary translators and what the association offers not only to translators but also to the general public.
You can watch the live stream on Tuesday 6th January 2026 from 20:00 on the Scandinavian House Facebook page. The recording will later be made available on our YouTube channel.
In Czech.
Free, no registration necessary.
The partner of Nordic literary salon online is Czech Translators of the North – an association that brings together translators of fiction from Northern languages to Czech.
The event is part of the Scandinavian House’s year-long project Nordic Literature in the Heart of Europe 2025. It is supported by the Prague City Hall and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
