Books, waffles, games at the end of summer
On the last Saturday of August, we will give a Nordic goodbye to summer. In the pleasant community garden Bubeneč, we will celebrate this year’s 100th anniversary of the cheese slicer, an invention patented by carpenter Thor Bjørklund in the year 1925. You will get a chance to taste authentic Norwegian waffles, use the cheese slicer to get a slice of the one-of-a-kind brown cheese called brunost and hear thematic excerpts from Nordic books, including Adventures with Waffles. You will also get a chance to play the Finnish throwing game Mölkky and participate in a quiz where you can win the original Norwegian cheese slicer.
You can arrive any time between 13:00 and 17:00. Bring a blanket, good mood, a snack and your family or group of friends. We will take care of the waffles and there will also be drinking water available.
Entrance is free, refreshments are for a fee.
Venue: the entrance to community garden Bubeneč is located on the intersection of streets Antonína Čermáka and Mlýnská close to the bus stop Nemocnice Bubeneč. It is a 20-minute walk from Hradčanská, 5 minutes by bus n. 131. The garden is equipped with a compostable toilet.

The event is organized by Scandinavian House and Community garden Bubeneč with the financial support of the Czech Ministry of Culture and Prague City Hall. The partners of this event are Prague 6 City District, Norwegian Embassy in Prague, Sweden Embassy in Prague and Embassy of Canada to Czechia.
