Nordic Film Thursdays: The Storm in My Heart

Unconventional love story with marine poetics

Jernanger is a tale about Eivind, a quick-tempered man who isn’t scared of anything – except for love. Eivind spends his life aboard a boat in a Norwegian town called Stavanger. The boat lies low and lopsided in the water. Thirty years ago, Eivind left his homestead and his teenage sweetheart behind, and he has not yet returned. He was meant to go back, but he wanted to explore the world a little bit – and, in the end, he never came back. Then a young man, Kris, appears. He wants to travel the world, too, but didn’t get any longer than to the lifeboat of Jernanger. The two men befriend each other and hatch a great plan.

As a part of the Nordic Film Thursdays project, the Scandinavian House in cooperation with Evald Cinema presents THE STORM IN MY HEART (Jernanger).

The screening will begin with a very short lecture about Stavanger, where the movie takes place.
