Fearless Karen Blixen

“Not by the face shall the man be known, but by the mask.”

At the beginning of October, we’ll host a series of events in Prague to remember Karen Blixen (1885–1962) for the occasion of the 140 years anniversary of her birth. Karen Blixen, often referred to as the first lady of Danish literature, still fascinates not only with extraordinary life stories, but also her work which, in addition to Out of Africa, includes especially stylistically and linguistically sharp novels and short stories, such as Babette’s Feast or Winter’s Tales. The aim of our mini festival is to take a deeper look at the enigmatic personality and texts of this literary icon.
