European Day of Languages 2023

The representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Library of Languages invites you to the sixth edition of the European Day of Languages, which will take place on 26 September 2023 at Kampus Hybernská.

The programme includes mini-courses in a wide range of languages (not only those taught at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University), workshops, lectures, an escape game or an exhibition. And although the overarching theme is the languages of Central Europe, Scandinavian lovers will also be in for a treat! This year, there will be a speak-dating with representatives of the Nordic embassies in Prague, so those interested will be able to learn a few phrases from Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian or Danish. During this year’s edition of the event, speak-dating will take place for a total of three hours, from 15:00 to 18:00.

Admission free (including speak-dating) + admission to selected parts of the programme

The aim of the European Day of Languages is to celebrate the linguistic diversity in Europe and to promote the knowledge of more languages among citizens. All over Europe, events are taking place to encourage people to learn a new language or improve their existing language skills. Language learning not only helps understanding between people but also helps to overcome barriers between cultures.
