Danish customs and traditions

What is hidden behind the Danish term hygge? Why is Denmark regularly placed among the happiest countries of the world – and what role do traditions, social life and food play in that?

The lecture in museum in Prostějov will offer a look at Denmark from different perspectives: cultural, social and gastronomical. You will find out which holidays are celebrated in Denmark, which customs and traditions are kept throughout the year and which foods are connected to them. Together, we will walk through the entire year, looking closer at the many different celebrations.

You can also look forward to tips on traditional foods – the famous rye bread sandwich called smørrebrød, meatballs, pickled herring, or the sweets, Danish pastries and cinnamon rolls.

Come and enjoy the Nordic atmosphere and get to know Denmark through traditions, tastes and everyday culture.

The lecture is held by Hana Hochmanová.

In Czech.
