BALT: Baltic literary weeks

April in Brno will belong to the Baltics, as just after Easter festival BALT – Baltic literary weeks will take place. Brno will welcome translators from the Baltic languages Věra Kociánová (Lithuanian) and Michal Škrabal (Latvian), who will take part in the discussion about contemporary Baltic literature and its translations into Czech. The following day there will be a screening of the Latvian-Lithuanian movie The Sign Painter as a part of the #ReadNordicFilm cycle.

A week later the festival will continue with the literary and culinary experience Eat&Read Baltic, where there will be an opportunity to taste the specialties of the Baltics accompanied by the literary samples presented by Kateřina Jebavá. The festival will end with a Nordic-Baltic pub quiz, which will test the knowledge not only about the Baltics, but about the European North as well. In addition, the online Nordic literary salon in April will be dedicated to the Lithuanian novel Fishes and Dragons.
