The Scandinavian House in the cooperation with the Municipal Library of Prague and other partners presents 1st one-day festival of Baltic literature and film - Baltfest2009.

You will meet Liana Langa (Latvia), Arvo Valton (Estonia) and Kęstutis Navakas (Lithuania).

There will be an exhibition of photographs of Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia in the foyer of the Central Municipal Library from 16th October to 7th November.

Every Monday at 4pm, from 9th February to 6th April 2009 (except for 30th April), you can see a Latvian film at the Culture Centre of Latvia (in the same building as the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia, Hradešínská 3, Prague 10).

While the Nordic countries are represented by the Scandinavian House at the European day in ZOO Prague within the EAZA European Carnivore Campaign, Latvia has its own representant there.

The Latvian stand will be situated next to pavilion of gorillas. For children it will be offered to piece together some of wooden puzzles with pictures of protected animals living in Latvia.

European day in Prague's ZOO will be held on March 21, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

An exhibition of the orders and honours of the member states of the European Union, among them of Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The exhibition takes place at Hrzánský palác (Loretánská 177/9, Prague 1) from 3 February to 1 March 2009, from 10 to 17. Free admission.

Photographies, instalations and videos of contemporary artists from Latvia will be presented at the Langhans Gallery Prague. The exhibition is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Prague.

An international triennale of contemporary art, organized by National Gallery in Prague, is a large-scale project focused on artistic sphere that is apart of main trends of contemporary fine art manipulated by financial and political power.

The goal of the topic of triennale Re-reading the Future should draw attention and make available creative trends that are in the background of present society preferences.
