Pål Sletaune's black comedy "You Really Got Me" features a brilliant cast of pathetic but noble characters who this time get caught up in Norway's "kidnapping of the century". First there is Jan, the pathetic owner of a drab hamburger restaurant that no one ever frequents. Then there is Bent, the frustrated drummer of a rock band fronted by rock star Iver Mo. And last but not least, there are two hopelessly incompetent thugs who are hired to kidnap Iver Mo. When everything that can go wrong does, Jan somehow finds Iver Mo and turns the "kidnapping of the century" to his advantage - in an unbelievable way!
Film: Gone with the Woman (Tatt av kvinnen, romantická komedie, NO, Petter Næss, 2007, 90 min)
Brno Kino Art, Cihlářská 19, Brno, within the Scandinavian film series
Czech subtitles
Gone with the Woman is the story of He, a male who hasn't even got a name. And, without him fully grasping how it comes about, his life is invaded by a woman. From this point on, he struggles to tackle the situation; He could try to throw out the invader, or try to adjust to the circumstances. He opts for the second alternative, and decides to fall deeply in love. As He himself puts it: "I will start already by tomorrow." A sincere, althhough somewhat naïve project. But she already has this little grip on him, she is a small step ahead. And He is behind her. Only a few seconds, a few lines, but still behind - in his own life. He passes from being invaded to being in love to being left behind. And exactly when He is about to forget her - she returns. The film tells the story of a man who is finally forced to decide how he is going to live his own life - and this is the woman's merit.
