The Library of the Scandinavian House is a specialized library open to public and organized under the auspices of the voluntary based NGO Scandinavian House. The library has been registered at the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic under the evidentiary number 6282/2007.
The Library forms and manages the following collections:
- Fiction written originally in Nordic languages (Danish, Estonian, Faroese, Finnish, Greenlandic, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Saami, Swedish) and translated to Czech, Slovak and languages spoken worldwide
- Fiction written in Nordic languages
- Fiction translated to Nordic languages
- Non-fiction literature about the Nordic countries, especially about their culture, history and languages
- Non-fiction written in Nordic languages
The basic service that the library provides is the lending of materials to all the visitors. Everybody is entitled to study the books in the library and the members of the civic association enjoy additionally the right to take also outside loans.

The project of a library has been only launched at the end of year 2006 and ought to the short existence the richness of the literary sources is so far unfortunately rather limited. Therefore we would express high gratitude for any donations of books or information material. Thank you.
